Akeem Shirley

Akeem Shirley is the primary Project Manager for the Enterprise Data Science Office based out of Cisco’s headquarters in San Jose, California. In this role he manages the team’s constantly growing portfolio of data science projects while standardizing a scalable framework for data science solution delivery.

He is extremely active in employee experience related activities, leading the San Jose chapter of the company’s Connected Black Professionals employee resource organization. He restarted the company’s participation in the San Francisco Pride Parade and supports early in career and inclusion and diversity efforts around the company.

Akeem is a practicing Shinnyo-en Buddhist and spends a lot of his time outside of the office participating in activities at his temple.

Known as the resident ball of energy and fun wherever he goes, Akeem is a people person and thrives in diverse groups. Equal parts mindfulness, selflessness, a barrel of laughs, and seemingly endless positive energy and you’ve got his magic formula for success.
